Product Description
Horzona Waterphone is a unique, hand-crafted, water-filled musical instrument that creates hauntingly ethereal sounds reminiscent of humpback whale calls or the eerie, sci-fi sounds produced by a theremin. It consists of 44 different length rods permanently attached to a stainless steel body with silver joints. High silver content silver joints provide extra durability and a great resonance of the instrument. Rods are made out of brass, alloy known for its great sound properties and transparent timbre. With proper care it will last a lifetime. To play the instrument, the resonator chamber is first filled with a small amount of water. The sound is produced by bowing the brass wire times (spokes) using a violin bow or percussive by lightly striking the resonator chamber or tines with a mallet, drumstick or by hand. The extraordinary, beautiful and eerie sound that it produces gives an out-of-this-world sensation to the listener being a perfect instrument to create moving atmosphere in concerts, movies, spectacles and all sort of shows (also a great addition in a storytelling experience).Over the years we have sold Horzona Waterphones to many productions of the musical "Wicked," as well as symphony orchestras, movie-production studios and recording studios. Listen closely the next time you see a creepy movie or TV show and the chances are that you will hear the sounds created by Horzona Waterphone.
