Product Description
"Water Analysis takes an in-depth look at how scientists test and study water. In addition to visiting real-life test settings, including a wastewater treatment plant and an aquarium, viewers follow along as a group of high school students undertakes an investigation to test and compare water from four different sources: a pond, a drinking fountain, a fish tank and a swimming pool. Viewers learn about proper collection methods and correct scientific procedure as the samples are tested for eight factors: temperature, pH, dissolved oxygen, hardness, alkalinity, nitrates, coliform bacteria and chlorine. Using their test data and known information about optimum water conditions, the students try to determine the source of each sample. Lab safety is stressed throughout the program. "
